DiscoveryBound Outreach Annual Event for Teens and Adults

Get an inside look at the entertainment industry at this year’s DiscoveryBound Outreach National Annual Event in Los Angeles, California. Both teen and adult tracks will stay on the beautiful UCLA campus and will see the Hollywood Walk of Fame, tour Warner Brothers Studio and visit the beach in Santa Monica.

In addition to these activities, each track will have their own unique experiences:

Teens – enjoy workshops from actual industry professionals who are also Christian Scientists:

Darrel Dorr began his career at the Walt Disney Company as a show director and over 20 years he produced more than 1,000 shows. He then formed his own production company and in 2015 founded the Effulgence Foundation with the purpose of keeping the histories of early Christian Scientists alive through documentary films. Visit Darrel’s website.

Robert Tate Miller has written many screenplays and has had 8 movies produced by the Hallmark Channel. His TV movie credits include Three Days, Secret Santa, Hidden Places, Farewell Mr. Kringle, Christmas Cookies and Love Struck Cafe. Rob is also an author of romantic novels.

Betsy Mueller has worked in the film industry for over 15 years as a Lighting Technical Director. She has worked on a wide variety of projects including Happy Feet, Iron Man, Star Trek, Life of Pi, PacificRim, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Star Wars: Force Awakens, Rogue One, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi and has won two Oscars. Currently she is spending her time in the fine arts, working in dot art and pointillism. Visit Betsy’s website.

And end the weekend with a SoCal pool party.

Adults – visit the Griffith Observatory and Park (site of many TV show and movie scenes) and Walt Disney Concert Hall.
